Toussaint Smith, Business Manager
Toussaint Smith has worked with Transitional Alternative Initiative
Reentry, Inc. (TA) since September, 2009 and serves as Chief Operating
Officer/Chief Financial Officer. TA is an Illinois not-for-profit 501-c-3
organization dedicated to increasing community health and safety by
reducing individual recidivism and anti-social behavior. Clients are
offered behavioral counseling, job readiness training, General Education
Diploma (GED) classes, referral services, and housing. In addition to TA,
Toussaint is a Youth Mentor, the Financial Officer and Executive Board
member for the not-for-profit organization, Sow A Seed Outreach.” The
mission of Sow A Seed is to promote empowerment of people, and
respect for cultural diversity.
Since 2004, Mr. Smith has been a State of Illinois licensed Real Estate
Broker, who owns and operates the two locations of Alliance Associates
Realtors. The success of his real estate business is reflected by his
membership in the Millionaire’s Club for Real Estate Sales. For 16 years
Toussaint worked for Lucent/AT&T as an Engineer, Sales Analyst and
Account Manager, which initiated his expertise for financials. During this
tenure, he received the “Achievers Award” for three years of outperforming his designated sales quota.
For nine years, Toussaint was employed as an Executive Elder of the Family & Faith Christian Church of Aurora, IL. He held the positions of Operations Manager and Financial Officer where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and financial operations of the 800 parishioner church. In 2003 his work at the church was honored and recognized through the “Life of the Church” award.
Mr. Smith has been consistently committed to his community through his volunteer work. He is a board member of the Afro American Heritage Advisory Board of Aurora, IL, President and Vice President of Toastmasters, Financial Officer and Board Member of The Center for Community Empowerment, Board Member Real Estate Development Committee member for Joseph Corporation. Toussaint is also a member of the MainStreet Real Estate Board and was recognized for his dedication to the welfare of his community by East Aurora School District 131 when he received the 2012, “Making Choices for Excellence Award.
Toussaint was born and raised in Chicago, IL, graduated from Northern Illinois University with an Engineering Technology degree and received his Masters in Business Administration from Brenau University, Georgia. He is married and has two daughters and one son.
